Killing time at Denver International Airport
After a quick trip back to Colorado (5 days), we jump back on a plane and head south.
Arriving in Mexico City. This city is massive!
The 4-hour flight from Denver to CDMX is done!
We’re trying out a new hands-free camera that will make it easier for us to document some of our travels. With each of us juggling two suitcases, a backpack, a boarding pass, and more, we often find it challenging to capture our on-the-go travels. We’re hoping the new camera will help out with that while giving you, the viewer, a slightly more immersive experience.

Before we visited Colorado, we spent three weeks in Charleston, South Carolina, where we pretty much froze our butts off the entire time. Well, Colorado is, of course, usually much colder than SC, and we again were shivering for five days straight.
We were ready to head south again to finally warm up and return to our usual way of living, which is nude much of the time.

A little small, but this will work.
We arrived at our Airbnb relatively late in the evening. We entered and soon realized our shivering may not be over. The unit was ice cold! OK, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it was uncomfortably cool and unsuitable for going about our day clothes-free. There was no heat source in sight other than the water heater.
We arrived late, so we’re hitting an OXXO to get some food.
We do not drink the water in Mexico (or anywhere, really).
Simple tostadas for dinner.
We discovered a problem the following day.
We thought maybe it’ll warm up now that we’re here. So we turned in for the night, covered up with a comforter, and snuggled all night to stay warm. When we woke, it seemed even colder.

We immediately messaged our Airbnb host, and thankfully, they were very responsive and were able to deliver a brand-new space heater later that day. YES! It’s not perfect, but hey, we’ll take it…

We explore the city a bit and discover how great it is. The food is fantastic, and nearly everyone we encountered was extremely polite & friendly. We’re only in Mexico City for a week before moving on to the Oxcaca coast, where it’s bound to be much warmer.

We chat about an early morning incident.
Midway through our stay, our host messaged us in the middle of the night, checking to see if we were OK. We thought, why wouldn’t we be OK?
Earthquake scare!
Apparently, we slept through an earthquake centered a couple hundred miles west of the city. It was a 6.2 magnitude which triggered seismic alarms here in Mexico City.
This region has had its share of highly destructive earthquakes, so we’re thankful it wasn’t stronger or closer.

We most definitely will be back to this enormous, vibrant city. But first, we head to the Oaxaca coast…
